3 Reasons Why Change Can Be Your Guide

Change, in any aspect of one’s life can seem intimidating and frightening. Whether it be a reorganization at work, or entering into a new relationship, change is not a concept to be feared or ignored. It can be a guide to new possibilities and awareness of one’s newly found strengths.

Inguide June of 2000, after working for seven years in the finance industry my body was growing tired and suddenly burned out from the overall experience. As much as I appreciated my managers and the job itself, the endless hours of stock and bond reconciliation were eventually driving me mad. No longer satisfied with my current position I looked in the company’s Human Resources online database to see if there were any openings in other departments. As luck would have it, there was a position for a presentation specialist in the marketing department. It was a relatively smooth career change, as I would still be working closely with my soon-to-be former manager.

Nevertheless, if I had not faced my truth and taken action from the initial thought, I would probably stumble aimlessly for years to rid myself of unnecessary regret. No one but I had the power or knowledge to change my mind or alter my perception. I allowed change to be my guide, and here are three reasons why doing this helped through my transition.

It is the path to acceptance.

When one takes strides to brave the unknown there is a way of transforming fear into freedom. If one feels a tug of doubt, there is a certain resistance between thought and action. With acceptance, one can explore within and look to clearly define the intention. As worry and fear seeps into the mind, one can accept this new path as it comes, with no hesitation, and let it guide them.

It has a lasting impression on future experiences.

While one can strive to have a better future, the only way to truly find contentment with that future is to be mindful of the present moment. Change is frequent. When one can fully adapt to change, you are, with the least effort, paving the way to a brighter future.

With change comes confidence.

Whenever new possibilities arise, one can be confident that change derives from the highest good, despite how circumstances can at times claim otherwise.

It is important to remember that it is within our innate power to create our destiny. Let change, not circumstance, be your guide and live through every experience with ease.

Some people are afraid of change and may think that change will generate unhappiness. That’s not always the case. Sometimes we need to allow change to occur so that we can experience growth. There’s a such thing as “change for the better.” Change could bring smiles to our faces. It depends on what type of change and the reasons behind it.
