Your author profile is a vital part of your article

Your author profile is available to thousands of readers and so it’s vital you get this right.  When completing your author profile It’s important to make sure you include all your social media links.  You need to work on it until you are happy with your bio.  This is not the time to rush! The bio is now placed at the beginning of the article and is one of the first things readers see when they click to read your article.

Why bother completing this information?

Well for one, its an advertisement for the work that you do, allowing readers the opportunity to reach out to  you.   Our readers come from a variety of sources and everyone is different.  Your readers may wish to contact or connect with you on a variety of social media platforms.  It’s not only about contacting you, but by completing your bio and social media links, readers can readily verify your authority and expertise.  Finally, your author information is searchable via google and bing.  If someone is looking you up, you want them to land on good information which shows you in your best light.

Size matters

Your bio should not be too long.  Because we want to make sure our authors are given every opportunity to shine out for readers of their articles, we use an enhanced author bio style.  If the bio is too long then it can serve as a barrier to readers who are trying to quickly access your article.  We know the internet is fast paced and we need to make it as easy as possible to read your valuable articles.  We recommend around 50 to 100 words only. By filling your social profiles, including twitter, Linkedin, and Facebook, for example, you will give your readers alternative opportunities to find out more about you.

Amending your author profile

When you are signed in, you can either click on “profile” on the menu on the right under the dashboard and scroll down to “name”.  Alternatively,  follow this link. Complete the required fields. We have created a help sheet (scroll down below).  There are certain requirements that need to be met in order to make sure your BIO works properly.  This is where you input your business name and your company website
