Quite a few years ago, I read Nigella Lawson’s biography; what an interesting life she had up to that point. However, the part I remember most was when a friend described visiting Nigella, and his view was that it always seemed like Christmas Day in her house. I remember wistfully thinking that I would love people to have that view of visiting me. Unfortunately, my life felt less than magical then, and it seemed an impossible dream. However, creating a vibration that feels like Christmas every day is possible. It needs work and reaching for your higher self to navigate your days.

If You Are Experiencing Challenges This Holiday

I know for some, Christmas is not a happy time; in fact, the very celebratory nature of the season can make things seem much worse. And so, for those navigating challenges, pain, or uncertainty this season, know your journey is seen and honoured. Life’s difficulties can feel heavier during the celebration, but I hope within them lies a quiet resilience and the hope of brighter days. May you find moments of peace, unexpected kindness, and the strength to move forward. My deepest wish is that healing, comfort, and love find their way to you, wrapping you in the warmth you deserve.

Your Higher Self is a Choice

The higher self is your most genuine, loving, and wise part—the essence of who you are beyond ego, fear, or limitation. It’s not reserved for a select few; it’s available to everyone, always present within you, ready to guide you towards peace and authenticity. Remarkably, our brains are wired to access this state through mindfulness, reflection, and connection. Choosing your higher self means pausing in the face of life’s challenges, listening to your inner wisdom, and responding with love, compassion, and truth. It’s a daily practice of aligning your actions with the best version of yourself, trusting that this choice brings you closer to the life you’re meant to lead.

Your Higher Self and Christmas

Christmas, or any celebration, whatever your religion, is, in fact, a time which calls for your higher self to be activated. At Christmas, we naturally lean into qualities that define our higher nature—generosity, forgiveness, and joy. It’s the one day in our family that we know we need to act from our best selves.   We try to make space for kindness, focus on the needs of others, and celebrate the beauty of togetherness. This season often inspires us to embody our best selves, to pause, reflect, and let love lead our actions.

Yet, the magic of Christmas isn’t reserved for a single day or month of the year. It’s a glimpse of the life we can create daily by living from our higher self. Imagine a world where the spirit of Christmas—joy, generosity, and unity—is present in how we interact with others and ourselves daily.

Why We Don’t Always Act from the Higher Self

While Christmas can reveal the best in us, it also highlights our inner struggles throughout the year. Stress, over-commitment, and unresolved emotions can pull us into reactive patterns. These moments remind us of our work to grow, heal, and return to our higher self.

Acting from our higher self isn’t always easy, especially when the pressures of life weigh us down. Sometimes, we feel plain angry and have no desire to act from our higher selves.  But Christmas shows us that it is possible. Even amidst challenges, we can find moments of grace, love, and connection that remind us of ourselves and who we are.

Making Every Day a Mini Christmas

So, how can we bring the spirit of Christmas into our daily lives? Here are some simple ways to create “mini Christmas days” throughout the year:

1. Practice Generosity

Give freely—not just material gifts but your time, attention, and kindness. A heartfelt smile or a small act of service can uplift both you and the recipient.

2. See Through the Lens of Love

Choose to see others—especially those who challenge you—with compassion. Remember that everyone is on their journey, often carrying burdens you cannot see.

3. Forgive and Release

Just as Christmas reminds us to reconcile and let go of old grievances, you can release resentment throughout the year, making space for peace in your heart.

4. Celebrate the Small Moments

Christmas brings joy in shared meals, laughter, and simple pleasures. Seek out and cherish these moments in everyday life. A quiet coffee, a warm hug, or a kind word can become your reason to celebrate.

5. Stay Connected to Your Higher Self

Take time each day to reflect, meditate, or pause. By grounding yourself in your inner wisdom, you can respond to life with the grace and love of your higher self.

An Inclusive Christmas: Honouring all Journeys

This message is for everyone, regardless of how or whether you celebrate Christmas. The essence of this season transcends religious or cultural boundaries. It’s about recognising the light within us and nurturing the connection that binds us together.

Whether you celebrate Christmas, another holiday, or none, this season invites us to reflect on our shared humanity. It reminds us that each act of kindness, every moment of compassion, and all the love we give and receive ripple outward, creating a world that feels more like Christmas all year.

A Message to Your Higher Self

As you celebrate this season, take a moment to honour your journey. You’ve come so far, grown in ways you may not realise, and continue to show up for yourself and others in ways that matter. Trust that within you lies the wisdom, strength, and love to make each day a little brighter—for yourself and those around you.

This Christmas, let the spark of your higher self illuminate your path. As the season unfolds, may it remind you that the spirit of Christmas is not something you wait for but something you carry within, ready to share with the world daily.

Wishing you peace, love, and infinite joy—and wishing you Christmas every day, or for as many days as you can manage!
